Astoria machines have the following classifications:
- Superautomatic - Grinds and froths automatically. Programmable measurements for different sized servings.
- Automatic - Programmable touchpad for assorted serving sizes. Also has a pushbutton dispense option.
- Semiautomatic - Push-button operation with no programmable options.
- Piston (lever) - No electricity required. The pulling of a lever dispenses the coffee.
