The most precious black tea is grown in the western areas of the island of Sri Lanka. This gourmet tea has a dark liquor.

The 'orange' in orange pekoe possibly comes from the fact that these particular leaves have a golden orange color when plucked, or that in China sometimes orange blossoms were added to these leaves for flavor. Another suggestion is that it refers to the Dutch House of Orange. It does not have anything to do with the flavor of the tea leaves themselves.
