Mighty Leaf
The road to Mighty Leaf Teas was started in the early 1990s when the original owners discovered whole leaf tea and decided to leave their jobs to open a tea house in Chicago. A few years later they packed up and moved west to San Francisco to open Tea & Company. The new millennium saw a change from tea house to wholesale distributor. Their point of difference? Their silken, hand-stitched tea bags are filled with premium whole leaf teas, herbs, and fruits from around the world.
Why such a unique tea pouch? The artisanal bags are designed to replicate a freshly brewed pot of tea using whole tea leaves without the need for an infuser or strainer. Each large bag is hand-packed with a precisely measured amount of tea. The size of the bag has been designed to allow the whole tea leaves to be able to unfurl and properly infuse to provide you with a full-bodied and richer cup of tea. Each bag contains enough tea to brew a 12- to 14-ounce cup of tea.
If sustainability is important to you, look no further than Mighty Leaf Teas. Their commitment to sustainability begins with their growers and suppliers and continues through to their distributors and operators. They accomplish this through development of new teas using Certified USDA Organic ingredients, supporting non-GMO tea and herb ingredients and using environmentally friendly packaging. Even their proprietary tea pouches are compostable and biodegradable.
Mighty Leaf Teas believes in giving back to the community, both locally and globally. They work closely with "Pride Industries" to empower those with disabilities to build confidence and self-reliance by employing thousands of individuals with disabilities to hand-pack their teabags. They also partner with "She's the First" to provide women access to education which will empower them to make a difference in their lives and those of their families and communities. This global non-profit provides girls in developing countries with empowerment, mentorship, and scholarships.
Their philanthropy doesn't end with sustainability and empowerment. They are also committed to supporting growers around the world through Fair Trade practices. Their support has already made a tangible difference in communities across Africa and Asia by providing schools, daycare, child education programs, access to fresh water, and more.
