Rich in history and tradition, New Orleans is a unique symbol of Southern culture that is known for elaborate Mardi Gras celebrations. Influenced by the French during earlier years and through the Civil War, the residents adapted the use of chicory in their coffee as a way to stretch their coffee rations. Surprisingly, the ground chicory root added body and subtle chocolate flavor.

We combine Colombian coffee with dark French Roast and add a pinch of chicory to create our New Orleans Style Chicory Coffee. Medium-dark roasted, this heavily-bodied brew is true to the New Orleans tradition!

New Orleans Style Chicory Coffee

We like to serve this coffee after dinner, usually with a desert. It has a wonderful Chicory flavor that's not overpowering. Because we sometimes have our desert later in the evening we get the decaffeinated type. When it is served to our guests they always comment on how good it is.

Not quite like the original

Couldn’t taste the chicory. The coffee itself was pretty good but definitely not cafe du monde.
