Burundi also called the "Land of a Thousand Hills," is a tiny country surrounded by Tanzania, Rwanda, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Coffee is their primary cash crop, and the farmers have mastered the art of sustainable mountain agriculture. They understand and respect the delicate balance of their environment, and they only grow Arabica coffee.

With a heavy mouthfeel, flavors of lemon, black tea, delicate hints of spiced clove, and a sweet nutty finish, this medium-light roasted gourmet coffee is something you've never tried before! We know you'll love it as soon as you take that very first sip.

Great coffee

We love Ethiopian coffees, Costa Rican, and a few others. We do not like over-roasted coffee, like Starbucks likes to serve. I was fortunate to try Burundi several years ago from a local roaster, who brought this in as a trial. Loved it, unfortunately they did not get more.

This has to be one of our favorites as a medium roast, with a full body, slightly fruity on the front and a nutty finish make this a great brew. I liked it so much, that my last order was for 5 pounds!

Another Full-Bodied African Coffee

I'll admit that I was lured into trying the Burundi AA because of the sale price. It was a real bargain, though, as it tastes delicious. I am a big fan of African coffees, and this is up there with my favorites, Ethiopian and Tanzanian.
